GSK: A 200-headset VR rollout

VR DeploymentHardwareHealthcare

VRG handled a 200-headset Oculus Go order for GSK in Thailand. The project involved sourcing the devices, coordinating with GSK's procurement team and planning how the headsets would be set up and used for VR activities.

Supplying the headsets in batches

We began discussing the order in December 2019 and confirmed that the 200 devices had been ordered in January 2020. Availability and shipping dates were part of the planning, alongside GSK's supplier registration and purchase-order process.

The order was split into batches of 45 and 155 headsets. By early March, 45 were already at GSK's offices. We supplied photographs of the remaining 155 to support GSK's goods-receipt process, with separate invoices for the two batches.

Planning how the devices would be used

We planned how to pair the headsets with phones or tablets, update their software and install synchronised video playback.

We also outlined the requirements for group sessions, including wireless networking, power, testing and staff assistance. We discussed device setup and staff familiarisation separately from event support to clarify what help GSK would need.

Hardware and content

This hardware project formed part of our wider VR work with GSK. We also produced an interactive 360° experience for Boostrix, combining filmed scenes with medical CGI. That content production has its own case study.
