UNODC: Drug and precursor test-kit training

VR training

VRG built a virtual laboratory for UNODC's drug and precursor test-kit training. The exercise gives learners a place to practise the sequence of a test before working with physical kits.

The learning task

Learners use interactive reagent bottles and testing equipment, following guided steps through the procedure. They can repeat the exercise to become familiar with the equipment and the order of operations. The focus is on practising a task in a simulated setting; the experience does not replace the procedures or supervision required when handling real substances.

Development and handover

The project began during 2021–2022. An updated Android application package was supplied for testing in February 2023, ahead of the next installation. Further access and handover assistance for the DrugTest and Vehicle Search applications followed in October 2024.

The 2024 date shown on this page reflects that later handover work. The training application was already in development and use before then.
