About VRG

VRG is a technology consultancy that builds software, AI applications, and immersive experiences for clients across enterprise SaaS, professional services, and education. Our work ranges from web platforms and business automation to VR training and interactive experiences.

We are a small, high-output team. Everyone ships. Everyone owns outcomes. You'll work directly with our founder and the people using what you build.

The Role

We're looking for an AI Product Builder who can take an unclear problem and turn it into something useful. You'll work across client projects and our own products: understanding the need, deciding what to build, getting a working version into people's hands, and improving it through real use.

AI tools are part of the daily workflow. You'll use them to explore ideas, write and review code, test features, investigate problems, and automate repetitive work. You'll also be responsible for understanding the result. You should be able to explain how your application works, find out why it fails, and make it reliable enough for people to depend on.

This role suits someone who enjoys moving between product decisions and hands-on engineering. You care about the interface, the data underneath it, and whether the finished thing actually solves the problem.

What You'll Do

Product Building

  • Work with our founder and clients to understand problems, question assumptions, and define a practical first version.
  • Build web applications, dashboards, internal tools, and AI-powered features from idea through deployment.
  • Own the full flow: interface, database, APIs, authentication, testing, and production support.
  • Put working prototypes in front of users early, gather feedback, and decide what to improve or simplify.

AI & Automation

  • Build assistants and workflows that connect business systems, documents, email, and other tools through APIs and MCP where appropriate.
  • Turn repetitive work into dependable automation, with clear permissions, error handling, and human review for consequential actions.
  • Evaluate AI output against real examples, including incomplete inputs, incorrect answers, and unexpected tool behaviour.
  • Create reusable integrations, skills, and development patterns that make the next project easier to deliver.

Production Ownership

  • Review and test AI-generated code, investigate failures, and fix the underlying problem.
  • Protect customer data through sensible access controls, secure handling of credentials, and careful integration design.
  • Monitor performance, reliability, and running costs after launch.
  • Document what you build and explain decisions clearly to technical and non-technical colleagues.

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves

  • Working software you can show us, with a clear explanation of what you personally built and what happened when people used it.
  • Regular use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or equivalent, including reviewing and debugging their output.
  • Practical coding ability in TypeScript/JavaScript or Python, and confidence working with APIs, databases, Git, and deployment tools.
  • Product judgement: you can identify the important problem, choose a manageable scope, and recognise when a simpler solution is enough.
  • Clear written communication and the ability to make progress independently in a remote team.
  • Curiosity, follow-through, and a willingness to investigate unfamiliar systems.

Strong Preferences

  • Experience maintaining software after launch and responding to user feedback or production issues.
  • Experience building LLM features, tool integrations, or automated business workflows.
  • Familiarity with React, Next.js, PostgreSQL, and modern cloud deployment.
  • Experience working directly with clients or business users to turn requests into useful software.

Bonus Points

  • You've built a small product, useful side project, open-source tool, or automation that other people use.
  • You have a good eye for interface design and can make a workflow feel straightforward.
  • Thai language ability — useful for working with clients and systems in Thailand.
  • Experience with interactive applications, Unity, or VR, where it complements your software skills.

We welcome non-traditional backgrounds. Show us your work and how you think. A strong portfolio can come from employment, independent projects, freelancing, or a business you've built yourself.

How We Work

Remote-first

We're distributed and work asynchronously. Clear updates and useful documentation keep projects moving.

AI-first

We use AI throughout development and keep evaluating better ways to work. You're accountable for the quality of what you ship.

Small team, big ownership

You'll help scope the work, build it, test it, launch it, and support it. You have room to make decisions and are expected to explain them.

Client-facing

You'll talk directly with the people who need the solution, show them progress, and use their feedback to improve it.

Our Stack

We're pragmatic about tools and pick what's right for the job. Here's what you'll encounter most often:
